Goods in Transit policy provides indemnity against loss or damage to the insured’s property caused by fire, theft or accidental means whilst in transit by road or rail or whilst temporarily housed in the ordinary course of transit within the territorial limits.
The cover is applicable from the time of leaving the insured’s premises until delivered to the consignees address anywhere in Kenya. The cover can be extended to include hijack, loading and unloading risks. It is advisable to take this cover if your goods are being transported by a third party i.e. a transporters, or if you transport your own goods.
